A woman will face court after allegedly producing a blood-filled syringe and attempting to rob a service station at Liverpool last night. About 10.15pm (Sunday 28 September 2014), a 29-year-old woman walked into a service station on the Hume Highway with a scarf wrapped around her face. The woman allegedly produced a blood-filled syringe and threatened the male attendant, demanding money. When she allegedly tried to stab the attendant with the syringe, he grabbed her arms. A customer who entered the service station assisted the attendant in detaining the woman while police from Liverpool Local Area Command were called. The woman was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where she was charged with assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and shoplifting. She was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 29 September 2014).
