A wonderful evening at Wayne & Merediths ~~ Books & Conversation & a neat oral history of Interview & how it lead us to where we are in publishing & how it really changed things up .. Barbara made a spectacular evening happen ~~ as her brother Bob Colacello and she regaled us w/neat tales about the beginnings of their neat adventures in life in NYC & w/Andy Warhol & INTERVIEW Magazine... Funny how it got off the ground, for some of us, it just ALWAYS seemed to be there. When she told us how Bob scored 8th grade Barbara some mighty fine tix to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium ~ I immediately thought of my Awesome 50th Sun Ray A Hard Days Night Poster from this summer past... ( cue my ever & always wail I WAS BORN TOO LATE!~ she saw the BEATLES!) & I chuckled when he said I always preferred the Stones~~ This age old argument happens no matter who you are or where you began from doesnt it? .. What a wonderfully interesting evening ... I bet this night could have gone on for hours & hours more .. I had a chance to talk w/him about Mr. Reagan & his ranches in California & his governorship & presidency & Mr. Reagans horse love & outdoorsmanship ( oh you knew I could not leave my home state out ) & earlier in the eve I told him how so very much I miss Dominick Dunne & he said most everyone at Vanity Fair does.... So~~did I mention to everyone that they SHOULD read VANITY FAIR cover to cover?Oh yeah ...only about 87 times~~ Thank you Wayne & Meredith & Barbara & especially Bob Colacello for a lovely October Evening The neatest part I met some wonderful folks like RoseMarie & Florence & Andrew & had some neat talking w/Meredith about how we can change jaxsonviles heartbeat & make it go forward !~
