A year ago today, the brightest ray of sunshine in my life - TopicsExpress

A year ago today, the brightest ray of sunshine in my life underwent his first craniotomy, setting off a whirlwind and crazy year of more than we ever thought we were in store for. The feelings of helplessness no mother ever wants to feel.. Your heart being ripped from your chest and handed to a complete stranger to keep your child alive. I am in tears as I write this knowing that it has been the worst year of my life, the most emotional and heart opening year of my life, but most importantly the best year of my life because my baby is alive and healthy laying in my arms happy and determined to live his life as normally as we allow him to live it! I thank God every day for giving us the most amazing and talented Neuro team that we never wanted to ask for... Dr.Sandberg has been the most comforting and loving surgeon and friend to Nolan and could have not made it this far without him! The nurses and staff at Childrens Memorial Hermann were life savers and seriously kept me sane in moments that I came close to jumping out a window! No matter how bad or traumatic this experience has been for us... It has taught us what being a family and loving one another truly means! We appreciate eachother and appreciate the family, friends, and complete strangers who stepped into our lives this year as our saving angels. So with Nolans First Cranniversary we would like to thank each and everyone of you here on earth and in Heaven for being our heroes and support system... And we love and appreciate everything each and everyone of you have done for us!! God Bless you and your families and cherish every moment you spend with the ones you hold dear!
