PHIL PARKERS MOTORING COLUMN Issue #1. Ssangyong Stavic 2013 - possibly the worst people mover I have driven. How do I hate it - oh let me count the ways. From a name that sounds like a Serbian war criminal, to the ‘foot operated hand brake’ - to the lack of a rear overhead mirror (or reversing camera). The fact that as an alleged people mover: an anorexic dwarf would struggle to f*****g move through the miniscule gap between the middle seats and the rear seats, even when the middle seats have been moved on their sliders and the backrest folded down. The levers for the sliders and folder-downer are hard, knife-edged plastic and designed to be almost impossible to reach. The ignition keyhole is mounted forward and the steering column unit in such a way that you have to be double jointed to get the key in. The sound system lacks any top end and any raod music is reduced to a muffled rumble. Bad car. Bad bad bad.
