AAA TIPS: Cleaning needs...The Sleeve (Liner) The liner should be cleaned every day to remove the accumulated perspiration on the inner surface. It is recommended that the liner be cleaned with an anti-bacterial soap or antiseptic wipe or cleaner. Ensure that the liner is wiped with a clean cloth and warm water to remove any residual soap. Wipe the inside of the socket with a cloth. Dry the liner thoroughly before donning it. The Stump Sock Wearing a stump sock can help keep perspiration away from the skin. A light sock can have a cooling effect, as well as providing additional protect for the residual limb. You must change your stump sock every day and sometimes more often in hot weather. Your limb clinic will provide you with enough stump socks to enable you to wear a clean one every day. Most stump socks have washing instructions on a label on the inside of the sock. Do follow these instructions to ensure you are washing the socks at the right temperature. If you need more stump socks speak to your Prosthetist. A good tip is to put a rubber ball inside the sock to help reshape it after washing. As always, please add your tips for us to use in the comments section...thanks
