This video contains few events of March 1971 centering Bangladesh Struggle for Independence under BongoBondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahmans leadership as well as a glimpse of the formal hoisting of historical Tri-Colour Independent Bangladesh Flag (inscribing Golden Bangladesh map on the red sun over a green ground) by Swadhin Bangladesh Chhatro Songram Porishod (The Independent Bangladesh Students Action Committee) on 23rd March1971 at Paltan Maidan, Dacca. The flag is being hoisted by Hasanul Hoque Inu, as the Commander of Joi Bangla Bahini formed by the Nucleus for Independence. Kamrul Alam Khan Khosru, the 2nd-in-Command of the Bahini is presenting the gun-shot by firing from a rifle, while 4 Members of the Swadhin Bangladesh Chatro Songram Porishod are offering salute to the flag from the dais. They are (from left, as they stand on the dais) : 1. Abdul Quddus Makhan, General Secretary - DUCSU. 2. A. S. M. Abdur Rob, Vice President - DUCSU 3. Nur E Alam Siddiqy, President - Student League 4. Shajahan Siraj, General Secretary - Student League. Also standing on the dais are : 1. Kamaluddin, President Dacca University SL (extreme left). 2. Manirul Hoque, President Dacca City SL (extreme right).
