ABOUT FASTING AND PRAYERS . All across the world today at the beginning of every year as usual , the charismatics are fasting and praying . There are lots of lengthy prayers and fasting programme being advertised on TV , Facebook, 21 days fast 40 days fast 100 days fast etc .As good as this may be , Are these spiritual engagements supposed to make the headlines or be advertised on billboards? What does JESUS taught on fasting ? Matthew 6:16-18 (KJV) Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. It is never meant to be advertised . It supposed to be a closet engagement .the only one who should take note of it is God the REWARDER! Let us get into the right spiritually alignment Let us avoid being pharisaical, lets keep it simple ,sacred and private so that Heavenly Father can reward us in the open.
