ABVP & DUSU Press Release 14.04.2014 The University of Delhi - TopicsExpress

ABVP & DUSU Press Release 14.04.2014 The University of Delhi administration has crossed all limits of false propaganda. We have come to know that it has issued a press release todayin which it has stated completely false claims. It is a fact that the administration sealed the complete DUSU office immediately after the incident on 7th of April without informing any office bearer of DUSU. No DUSU office bearer were allowed to enter their offices as the main gate outside was also locked and many guards were deployed outside the office. The guards outside told us clearly either leave or we will call the police. It is shameful that the university is cooking false stories about shifting the office. The office was not shifted anywhere and DUSU President or Vice President were not informed about any such shifting. We demand an unconditional apology from the DU administration for forcefully and undemocratically sealing DUSU office. It is a known fact that the DU administration has been functioning in a highly tyrannical manner and this case is a clear proof of that. The university also did not inform any one, including the media, that any fact-finding committee has been formed after the incident of 7th April. If any such committee was indeed formed why has the university administration not made it public? Also, on the issue of rustication of Shri Raju Rawat, it should be noted that why did the university take action against him just one day after the incident. What kind of a committee was formed to probe the alleged incident of 2nd January? Was any one informed about such a committee? Then why did the university pass on the case to the police one month after the incident? Where are the notifications/notices of any such committee or its public hearing or its decision? The DU administration cannot ignore the law of the land and cannot take action against any student on false grounds. Did the university form any such committee after the incident of slapping of a teacher publicly in Law Faculty by the DUSU President last year(who belonged to the Congress affiliated NSUI)? No. It then took all steps to save him. It is now very clear that the university administration has acted in this manner with a malafide intention. We strongly condemn the double standards being adopted by the DU administration. DUSU and ABVP will hold a Protest March tomorrow against the sealing of DUSU Office and demanding resignation of the DU VC at 11 AMin the North Campus which will start from the Arts Faculty. We request the student community to come out in large numbers and speak out against the autocratic DU VC and his dictatorial policies. Regards, Aman Awana President, DUSU Saket Bahuguna Delhi State Secretary, ABVP
