ACE Exhausts Cup East Calder Daltons vs Newtown AFC Absolutely outstanding performance against a strong premier league team which we deserved the result for!! Everyone who was given a job done it with 110% commitment and effort!! That performance shows that we are not a team to be taken lightly at any level!! We lost the lead in the first half when their striker rose above the defence to head home from a set piece. We fought and fought against horrible windy conditions but didnt let them put us under pressure. Second half and it was the Newtown show. We worked harder, fought harder and played them off the park. Ben Anderson scored what can only be described as a 30+ yard screamer which beat the keeper on his near post to equalise. Sean Duff was fouled in the box and awarded a penalty which Neil Duff cooly converted. Another set piece allowed them to come back into the game when we failed to clear which left only penalties to decide who progressed.
