ACTION ALERT Attend a Town Hall Meeting to Speak Out for Cats and Dogs—Next Meeting is TOMORROW Dear Friend, Last month we let you know that the Miami-Dade County Commissioners and Mayor Carlos Gimenez had voted to reject funding for the Pets’ Trust. Here’s your chance to help change the Mayor’s mind. Mayor Gimenez is holding a series of Budget Town Hall Meetings, and you can ask him directly to support the program that voters recommended by a 2-1 margin last Election Day. Attend the Town Hall Meeting TOMORROW and respectfully ask Mayor Gimenez to support more funding for positive programs for animals! WHEN: Thursday, August 15, 6 - 8 p.m. WHERE: City of Aventura Commission Chambers, 19200 W. Country Club Dr., Aventura, FL 33180 The Mayor will host other Budget Town Hall Meetings over the next two weeks. View the full schedule. The Pets’ Trust plan would save animals’ lives by funding widespread spay/neuter and low-cost veterinary services. The plan would support community cat programs, and would expand access to spay/neuter to tens of thousands more animals every year. Nearly 500,000 Miamians—two thirds of voters—voted for the Pets’ Trust on Election Day! Let your voice be heard—attend a Town Hall meeting! Sincerely, Alley Cat Allies
