ACTION TIME! “Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it - TopicsExpress

ACTION TIME! “Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.” - Mahatma Gandhi Im sure youre familiar with the quote “action speaks louder than words”. Well its time to put it to the test. It is unfortunate to note how many people are stuck in the realm of inaction; paralysed by over analysis. Forever fine tuning the plan, but never getting to work. Planning is indeed a very important aspect of achieving any significant success, but the truth is that success itself is an action word, a verb and not a noun. You must move from planning to execution, today! The truth is that a man that carries out a poor plan is more successful that one who lacks the courage to execute even the best plans, he gains invaluable experience. The story is told of Larry Walters, a 33-year-old man who decided he wanted to see his neighbourhood from a new perspective. He went down to the local army surplus store one morning and bought forty-five used weather balloons. That afternoon he strapped himself into a lawn chair, to which several of his friends tied the now helium-filled balloons. He took along a six-pack of beer, a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich, and a BB gun, figuring he could shoot the balloons one at a time when he was ready to land. Walters, who assumed the balloons would lift him about 100 feet in the air, was caught off guard when the chair soared more than 11,000 feet into the sky - smacked into the middle of the air traffic pattern at Los Angeles International Airport. Too frightened to shoot any of the balloons, he stayed airborne for more than two hours, forcing the airport to shut down its runways for much of the afternoon, causing long delays in flights from across the country. Soon after he was safely grounded and cited by the police. Reporters asked him three questions: Where you scared? They asked. Yes., was his response. Would you do it again? No. He answered. Why did you do it?They queried. Because, you cant just sit there. Beloved, its time to take action, and make a move, you have talked about it long enough, pondered over it night and day, I dare say it’s time to step out. Its true that Larry Walters may not have planned adequately, but believe me he did see a new perspective. What about you? Like Larry you cant just sit there. Let me conclude with the words of C.G Jung “You are what you do, not what you say youll do.” Just do it! WISDOM NUGGET: James 1:22 But dont just listen to Gods word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves” - NLT Let us pray: Father, grant me grace to move from just planning to action in Jesus Name. Amen
