ACTORS PLEASE READ (found this online and had to share): Its hard. This whole business is a constant challenge and uphill battle. Training and preparing for years to be told no time and time again. Every now and then youre lucky enough to get a yes. And then... more no. You see friends go off on tours and booking work. You work your ass off doing jobs you dont find fulfilling, and you think is this worth it? Maybe I should just be realistic and stop. DONT YOU DARE. Everyones journey is different. You may be told time and time again your time will come!, and it starts to sound ridiculous. You start to believe your time will never come. If it hasnt come yet, there is no hope. KICK THAT VOICE IN THE NECK. You know what youre going to do when you start having those thoughts? Youre going to breathe, and youre going to find a creative outlet. Youre going to create. Youre going to tell a story. Youre going to sing, dance, paint, write, teach, play, sculpt, scrapbook. Youre going to scream and cry. Youre going to get right back into it. Youre going to keep going because you have to. Youre going to keep going because this community of artists needs you to. Youre going to keep going because whatever your time is for you is going to come, and you will not stop on your path just before that fork in the road appears. Dont even think about it. Because one of those times, you are going to get what youve been working toward and hoping for. You are going to have the courage to ask is it possible? and discover that it is. Youre going to get that gig. Youre going to book that tour. Youre going to book that show. Youre going to get that Card. Youre going to thrive. So dont you dare give up. You are enough. You have a support system that you can call on anytime you need. And if you think about giving up, you pick up that phone and you call. And you keep going. You are awesome. You will strive and thrive. Please, do not ever, ever give up.
