ADHD is often thought of as a deficit, but contextually, it can also be an asset. I find it interesting that as psychology progresses we are able to recognize cognitive differences as just that rather than as deficits. My hope is that when we are able to look at differences in brain functioning nonjudgmentally, we will be better equipped to permit people to find a way to thrive because of and not merely in spite of cognitive diversity.
