AFRICA ARISE!! Oh Africa! Arise! Oh Somalia! Persevere! Oh Somalia! Forbear! Oh Ethiopia! Survive! Oh Djibouti! Patience! Oh Kenya! More Patience! Oh Eritrea! Hold on! Where is the African hospitality? Where is our common humanity? Where is our African solidarity? Where is our bond of blood? Where is our shared brotherhood? Would we rather go our separate ways? Than share our blood, flesh, and bones? Would we rather divide our heritage? Than unite our legacy? Why cant all the other 50 Parts of the Mother Continent Join and share with the victimized four parts? Especially the severely stricken one part Of the deprived Mother Continent? Instead of only our beloved southernmost part Solely doing the work of the other 53 parts? Of the beguiled Mother Continent? African parts, please follow the footsteps Of your sole southernmost part What a good lesson, for those who wish to learn And yes, African parts, you must all learn So that you can become one, and together again African Union, where are you? Are you really a union of thick blood? Or merely a union of thin stagnant water? That may flow but would rather not flow? African governments, African leaders, Where are you, African menders and benders? Where are you African makers and shakers? Or are you merely dividers? Our beloved big brother where are you? Sleeping giant of Africa please wake up! Wake up my beloved Nigeria! Wake up and lead, but not mislead! Wake up our beloved Mother Africa! Bring your milk and honey Of motherly kindness and compassion Give succour to the poor victims Lets not chew the bitter pill Of Selfishness and Indifference But swallow the sweet pill Of Caring and Sharing Lets bypass the thorny African bush And bring the fragrant flowers From our African gardens To our blood kith and kin Wake up our dear Mother! Wake up and save your children Oh Africa, why neglect your children? Oh Mother, why overlook your children? Because you think you are not likewise threatened? Why should a Mother be selfish Against her children? Instead of the selfless devotion Expected of her? Oh, how wrong you are, mother! Remember you have 54 children Including your new-born baby Today one of your children is constantly threatened And three others occasionally threatened You think your other children will never be threatened? Indeed any of your other 50 children May well be threatened tomorrow Or the very next day So Mother, be selfless, not selfish And please care and share Dont load and hoard! Nor overload! Just because we are now not so stricken So we think we will never be afflicted? How wrong we are! What wrong a belief! Oh African parts, and those who Hold Africa together Do you really hold your parts And Africa together? Or is it just a Claim without substance?
