AFSers believe that global citizenship education helps develop theunderstanding and tangible skills required to work across cultural differences. “Global citizenship is not only about being, it is also about doing,” said Chernor Bah at the AFS Global Intercultural Education Symposium, UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on November 8, 2014. Bah is the youth representative on the High-Level Steering Committee for the UN Secretary-General’s Global Education First Initiative.
