ALTAR UNTO GOD 3 Hello wonderful family. I hope we have all been great. Last time, I discussed about altars in the Old testament, their importance and purspose. This time, Ill be addressing Altars in the new testament. The coming of Christ brought about fulfillment of so many laws. During his teachings and fullfillent, He made references to prophecies of prophets who had come before him and how they prophesied such in the scriptures. In the new testament, christ established that we should build not physical altars as were the case in the old testament, but build altars in our heart. That is, building spiritual altars. This means that, our heart should be a point of contact with God. In prayer, thanksgiving, establishing covenant, etc. Having considered himself as the ultimate sacrifice who puts us right with God, we need not a material sacrifice for our supplications to God anylonger. Also note that the physical altars didnt endure time but spiritual altars can. Hence, building a living consistent and enduring altar in our hearts for the lord is imperative.
