AM I A BLACK HOLE CHRISTIAN? (a whatsapp share) There is a spiritual light that the normal man is ignorant about. This spiritual light is more real than the visible light we see around us. There is also a spiritual darkness that cannot be perceived by the physical eye. A normal man can neither see the light nor the darkness that belongs to the spiritual domain. A spiritual man can see both. Jesus who said, I am the light of the world, also told His disciples, Ye are the light of the world. Like the stars of the night sky, God has called us to shine as lights in this dark world (Phil 2:15), not just to throw some light into the darkness, but to bring out those who are in the realm of darkness into the territory of light. Now, this is not as easy as shining a torch towards a man lost in a jungle, to show him the way out. The Bible says that man has a love for the darkness he is in (Jn 3:19). The light that therefore shines into such a darkness must have the power to fight against a mans passion for the darkness. One man of God once said, There are five gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and you. And most people will never get to read the first four, but they will read you. And that is how we are the lights of the world. The gospel of Jesus Christ, with its wisdom and power, is reflected through our daily lives for others to see. But what happens when we fail to shine as lights? When a star dies, it stops shining, reduces significantly in size, attains a very high gravitational force, and pulls all matter into itself including light from other stars that come in its way. Such a dead star is called a black hole. A Christian who fails to give out the light that he ought to will soon disintegrate into a black hole and attempt to suck the light out of fellow Christians. He will neither shine himself nor allow others to shine. King Saul lost the light of divinity in his life. An evil spirit troubled him. At the same time, Davids light was fast growing. But when David staye away from Sauls feast, Saul said, Something hath befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean. This is the inward wish of the fallen man - If I cannot succeed, no one should. A student who fails in an exam will feel consoled when everyone else has also failed. Christian brother, how are you looking at your brothers at church? Are all unclean around you? Examine yourself - it may be that the light has gone out of you. It may be that your mind is sucking out the light that emanates from them, so that you are deceived into thinking that they are fallen, just like Saul misunderstood David. Black hole Christians can cause damage to the church by becoming doors by which Satan can work against others. Stop finding fault with others, stop looking at others with black glasses. Why not allow your light to shine on them? Why not send a spark to set them ablaze once again? Or is there no spark in you? No more murmurings, no more disputings. Hold forth the Word of life and shine. And let others shine.
