#AMM!! Today I will feature Kashmir! The original by Led Zeppelin Official has always been one of my favorite records and I like the idea of flipping rock records into jazz (like Black Hole Sun on Red Pill) danielcrawford.bandcamp/track/2-black-hole-sun When I wanted to flip another rock record into jazz, I actually asked my friends on Facebook in a status which record would they like me to flip. There were a lot of GREAT suggestions and then someone suggested Kashmir and it was an immediate YES, THATS IT!! My love for the original played a huge part in choosing to do this cover. Covers can be tricky but, I always go into it thinking, this is just a re-imagining of the original, not trying to compete with the original composition. Just giving the song new life. The original is the original and my rework is just that, a rework. Besides that, not much else went into the making of this song, just had to figure out how to make it ME but still keep the essence of the original record. Complex simplicity is the recurring theme in all of my compositions I believe.
