AMSA would like to congratulate the Darwin Port Corporation on being runners up for the Northern Territory Chief Minister’s award for delivering a balanced environment. Earlier this year AMSA and Darwin Ports jointly conducted “Exercise Northerly” an oil spill response exercise simulating an oil spill off the coast of Darwin. The exercise involved AMSA, the Northern Territory government and industry working together to practise their skills in responding to maritime environmental emergencies. AMSA’s acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Toby Stone, and Exercise Northerly organiser, David Imhoff, joined Darwin Port Corporation Harbour Master Ian Niblock at the awards ceremony last week. Congratulations to all the winners.
