AN INSTRUMENT DESIGNED FOR THE LIFE AND HEALTHY GROWTH OF NIGERIAN ECONOMY: The coordinated efforts of thousands of individual enterpreneurs can turn any nation into one of d richest, with huge industrial economy. My plan is to develop for Nigeria a production-line economy with high wages, high spending and high output. We must know that heavy taxation, especially through such devices as Personal Income Tax, is a conspiracy to steal money from d hard-working population & squander it among d office-holding elites. We must strive for a strong Federal govt with wide power of intervention, as d defender of ordinary men & women against d excesses of its own agencies. By having a big, benevolent govt in Nigeria, we will nullify d notion that has come to regard govt, when at its best, as a necessary evil, d only means whereby certain needful tasks can be accomplished, and when at its worst, as an unrivalled oppressor. The Nigerian govt must be seen as a knigt in shining armour, coming to d rescue of d poor & d weak and d victimised, and doing with objective benevolence what otherwise will be done selfishly by greedy aggregators of private wealth. It goes without saying that we will get nowhere as a nation without ridding our country of corruption that is becoming our national identity. It may be necessary to create a body that will be empowered to demand annual reports from our National Assembly and to audit every Naira spent by d upper and lower Houses of d Assembly. The body should be given a statutory duty to investigate d presidency too. All these are necessary bcos d essence of a Republic is d establishment of d rule of law, & d prime function of govt is 2 uphold & enforce it. Our policymakers do not seem 2 know that d binding obligation of obedience 2 d law againist personal desire is d essence of coercive constitutional govt, without which all liberty, all security is at an end, and force alone will prevail. Those entrusted with d gravest authority cannot set any example, save that of sternest obedience of d law.
