AND I LOVE YOU! Back when I acquired The Thirsty Dog I didn’t have a cent to my name. I was unemployed and had to beg, borrow & steal to get the money. One had to step up to guarantor the loan and another the rent. Thank you! …It took 100 hour weeks and sleeping on the floor. I opened every day and use to scrub the keg room on Xmas Day after opening for 3 hours ready for Boxing Day… …I got my first 3 days off after 3 years and spent them in a Bikram Yoga studio in Sydney…. … As it stands today The Thirsty Dog is Aotearoa’s only stand alone Performing Arts Tavern & Café with No Brewery Contracts, No Pokie Machines and No TV’s with a Local and International following… …Rounding in to my 8th year I believe the future of Thirsty Dog is brighter now than ever however in order for it to keep evolving the time has come for the creative entity of another to write it’s next chapter… The Thirsty Dog Tavern & Cafe - Home of The Performing Artist since 2006’ has been one of my proudest creations and has continued to support my yogic path. For this alone I am extremely grateful and to all the talented artists, team - past & present, technicians, tradesmen and patrons alike who hold up its walls... …As of today The Thirsty Dog has new Captain’s and no words can express how I truly feel better than those of this amazing woman.
