AND THATS A RAP.. No more UK Rap Ups from Mystro!! After 5 years Mystro/MysDiggi has called time on doing the UK Rap Up. I have to admit to being a little sad, but on the other hand the feeling of actually having a Christmas for the first time in 5 years is a lot larger lol. Im not sure if people fully took on board how much work went into delivering it every year for 1st January (whatever the year). There was the research, the cross checking to make sure everything was correct, finding access to not just a studio, but a studio and engineer that was prepared to work over the holiday season, the artwork, production and mixing etc.. and a video more often than not. By the time we get to year 4 and 5 a well rehearsed team had pretty much formed who all knew what was required of them including myself.. a team which has and will continue to work together whenever the opportunity presents itself. For me personally, the highlight of these sessions would be watching Mystro weave new bits of information into his material as it was presented to him on the day of the recording session. There were always a few stories that broke as we were about to record, and it was amazing to watch a master of their craft find where and how to add additional information to an already packed set of lyrics. And we did all this for FREE!! No sponsorship, no endorsements, no financial gain, and it was delivered for FREE!! Sometimes with support from DJs, sometimes not. So Id like to say a big thank you to Dan Deoxyribonucleic Acid, Sam Davis and anyone else who has been involved for all their help behind the scenes, and a huge thank you to my brother from another Mystro, who not only asked me to produce but firmly had my back when people were saying he shouldnt have. Eternally grateful!! UK Rap Up 2009-2013.. Adios!! Im looking forward to whats ahead!! ;)
