ANNOUNCEMENT to members of ANOPIO, MEDIA and PDRRMC: The PIA together with SMART Communications and the Dumaguete Press, Radio & TV Club will hold a one-day training on “Disaster Preparedness vis-a-vis Climate Change Using Social Media” for the members of the Association of Negros Oriental Public Information Officers (ANOPIO), local media, and Negros Oriental Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council. We believe that government information officers and the media play a vital role in times of disaster. The event is scheduled on July 10, 2014 (Thursday) from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm at 4th Floor, Provincial Convention Hotel, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City. This training aims to enhance the Information Officers use of social and digital media in early warning and disaster communication management along with identifying the disaster risks and appropriate mitigation. In this light, we are again reminding you about our invitation to attend the training this month. Communication letters were already sent to your respective LGUs and agencies.
