ANNOUNCING OUR PREMIER SEASON... Thornton Wilders OUR TOWN Performances July 4 and 7-13, 2014 In 1901 Grovers Corners, George and Emily fall in love, marry, and live out their lives as one New England town becomes a microcosm of everyday life. A recent Off Broadway smash playing for more than 600 performances, this wonderfully intimate staging marks the premiere production of Actors Theatre of Appalachia and celebrates the 75th Anniversary of Wilders groundbreaking, Pulitizer Prize willing play. A portion of the proceeds from this production will benefit Abuse Alterntives of Bristol, TN in memory of Kristen Palmer, Griffin Palmer and Nancy Griffin. The July 4 th performance at 6PM will be a special Pay What You Can performance in their memory with 100% of all monies rased to benefit the (Bristol) Virginia High School Thespian Society and Drama Department and the Patrick Henry High School (Emory, VA) Athletic Department. George Orwells 1984 World premier adaptation by Casey Mason October 28 thru November 2, 2014* April, 1984. 13:00. Comrade 6079, Winston Smith, thinks a thought, starts a diary, and falls in love. But Big Brother is always watching. Orwell’s ideas have become our ideas; his fiction is often said to be our reality. The “definitive book of the 20th century” (The Guardian) is re-examined in a radical new staging exploring surveillance, identity and why Orwell’s vision of the future is as relevant now as ever. *Contact us about scheduling a special performance for your school group. A portion of the proceeds from this production will be donated to Healing Hands Medical Center in Bristol, TN. A special Pay What You Can Performance will be held October 28 at 7PM will 100% of the proceeds benefiting Healing Hands. Childrens Christmas Play TBA November 28-30 and December 4-7, 2014 Bring your kids to see our fun Christmas musical (to be announced shortly) for just $5. They also get to meet the cast for photos and autographs and cookies and milk. Parents will have the opportunity the shop for 90 away from kiddies prying eyes! A portion of proceeds will benefit the Girls and Boys Club of Bristol, VA. Propelled by an award winning score from Roger Miller, the king of country music, this jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana. A portion of the proceeds from BIG RIVER will benefit CASA.
