ANNUAL PARENTS ORIENTATION The Annual Orientation for Parents (both old and new) and the Election of Officers for Parent-Teacher Council of the International Christian School for SY 2013-2014 was held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the ICS Students’ Lounge. They received a warm welcome from ICS teaching and non-teaching staff who guided them in the registration (signing of attendance per class level) and to their respective seats. The event started with an Opening Prayer led by Ms. Mary Ann Grace V. Yap, Intermediate Teacher; followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem conducted by Mrs. Gloria C. Daez, Foreign Language Teacher in Chinese; and Opening Remarks delivered by Mr. Severino C. Madria, School Administrator. The core presentation was highlighted by the Presentation of Teaching and Non-teaching staff from all departments – Pre School, Elementary, High School, Ancillary Services, Security, Maintenance and Finance conducted by Mrs. Gemma Q. Vergara, School Principal. It was followed by another presentation on Academic Program (ICS Mission and Vision, Goals and Objectives, Core Values), Order and Discipline (Guidelines for Students and Parents), and other policies on the use of cell phones and other electronic gadgets and Bullying conducted by Mr. Christopher Y. Jornales, Assistant School Administrator. The final topic on K+12 Program (General Guidelines for the Assessment, Rating of Learning Outcomes and Selection of Honor Students was delivered by Mr. Severino C. Madria. It was followed by an Open forum where parents asked relevant questions, clarified issues and voiced out their feelings about certain matters involving their children. Some parents also provided wonderful comments, recommendations and suggestions to make ICS a fitting and worthwhile environment for their children’s education and future. It was a well-attended and well-received event and the ICS Management would like to express its deepest thanks and appreciation to all the parents and guardians for choosing ICS as the venue of their children’s development and success.
