ANONYMOUS; My little girl is nearly 3, me and her dad split up when she was 9months old. The first year of us being apart he saw her 6 times, the second year so far and probably about the same. She loves talking on the phone and has done since she turned 2 but he rarely calls id say twice a month. Sometimes he says he will and we wait and wait and he doesnt call, its getting beyond a joke. I have called him and explained many times he needs to make a effort as she now gets upset and says no to talking to him on the phone. I have even said if he doesnt want to bother then that is also fine just leave us be and that is that (not that i want him to choose that but the option is there as i feel you cant just come and go into a childs life as you please) He has put us through so much yet i have never stopped him seeing her as for me its never been a option. Today me and my daughter were playing a game and she was naming all her aunties, uncles, nans etc. I asked her who is her dad and she named her step dad i said do you have anymore daddys (bearing in mind she knows she has 2 and always says them both usually) she said no just step daddy, i then reminded her of real daddy and she said oh yeah i forgot about him makes me so sad and i really am lost on what to do. My partner has bought her up the last 2 years as his own and her real dad has never had a problem with it, I am just lost on ideas on how to get him to make a effort. He lives pretty far so I understand its difficult to get here all the time but I dont understand why he cannot call her a few times a week :/ is that to much to ask? help?
