APC belief and vision for Local Government as enunciated in its manifesto. The local Government as the third tier of government is the nearest to the people at the grassroots. The effectiveness of this tier of government is important for the wellbeing of a vast majority of the people who live in the rural areas. However,because the Local Government system lacks autonomy,fund meant for them have often been misapplied,misappropriated and misused. The All Progressives Congress strongly believe that an efficient,virile,responsive and effective Local Government system can impact and influence the development of the nation. We shall ensure that the Local Government system is autonomous so that it can perform the constitutional role demanded of it. The APC will strive to bring about reforms in the Local Government system that will guarantee efficiency,effectiveness,and proper accountability. Funds meant for the Local Government will be used only for Local Government.
