APPLICATION FORM FOR CAPACITY BUILDING TRAININGS ON “SKILLS FOR PEACEBUILDING, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, AND RECONCILIATION” FOR THE YOUTH OF FATA & MALAKAND DIVISION (Swat, Shangla, Buner, Dir, Chitral, Bajawar,Malakand Agency) ABOUT YOUTH PEACE NETWORK “Youth Peace Network” is a network of Young people started by Aware Girls in 2010 with the aim to building peace and combating religious extremism in Pakistan through promoting tolerance, inter-faith dialogue, harmony, and pluralism in the society, and by strengthening the conflict resolution skills of young people. (previously, the network was known as Seeds of Peace). The Secretariat of the network is at “Aware Girls”; a young women led organization working for the empowerment of young women and peace building. ABOUT THE TRAINING WORKSHOPS: Training Dates: 1st Training: 15th November to 19th November 2nd Training: 24th November to 29th November 3rd Training: 5th December to 9th December 4th Training: 19th to 23rd December Aware Girls’ has announced four trainings of the “Youth Peace Network” for the Month of November and December. 30 young people will be selected for each training; Aware Girls will cover all training related cost. The training course will include components such as understanding conflict, conflict and gender, conflict analysis tools, conflict management and conflict resolution skills, peacebuilding skills, mediation and dialogue as a conflict resolution and peacebuilding tool, and the impact of conflict on women and mainstreaming women in peacebuilding. Furthermore, it will address topics such as non-violence; pluralism, and tolerance; radicalization of Pakistan; its history and present status, strategies used by extremists, i.e., Taliban, and their networking capacity, and youth strategies for promoting peace and pluralistic societies. It will also include leadership skills, facilitation skills and peer education skills.
