APPSCOR awarded as Employer of the Year and a Finalist for Product Innovator of the Year by 4th Yaman Gensan. Date: 9/29/2008 One of the activities of the 4th Yaman Gensan which showcased abundant resources and quality products of the locality was the Yaman Gensan Awards organized by the Office of the City Economic Management Council and Cooperative Development. This annual event aims to recognize individuals and companies who made significant contributions in enriching business and economic life of the City. Allied Pacific Packaging Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary under the manufacturing division of RD Group of Companies was nominated in two categories, the Employer of the Year and Product Innovator of the Year. The company was able to get through as finalist in these categories. The 4th Annual Yaman award was held at KCC Mall Convention Hall last July 19, 2008. It was during this day that they finally announced the deserving individuals and companies who were awarded winners of the categories such as: Highest Taxpayer of the Year, Loyal Tax Payer of the Year, Local Entrepreneur of the Year (Individual), Local Entrepreneur of the Year (Juridical), Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, Product Innovator of the Year, and Employer of the Year. Allied Pacific Packaging Solutions Corporation was nominated and got through the selecting as finalist in the two categories – Employer of the Year and Product Innovator of the Year. The process was tough but APPSCOR emerged victorious bagging the Employer of the Year award. Mr. Abraham B. Sunio , Production Supervisor received the cash prize, medal and trophy. Among the awardees were Cargill Philippines – Highest Taxpayer of the Year; Sarangani Rural Bank Inc. – Loyal Entrepreneur of the Year; KM Foods was awarded as Product Innovator of the Year and Emerging Enterprise of the Year; Kuya Chito of Takuyaki – Local Entrepreneur of the Year (Individual Category); and Skeptron Ventures, Inc. – Local Entrepreneur of the Year (Juridical Category). The awarding was witnessed by no less than the City Mayor Pedro B. Acharon Jr, members of the City Council, businessmen, different sectors of the society and some media practitioners of the city. The old adage proves that even the smallest can beat the biggest one. “PEQUEÑO PERO TERRIBLE” that’s what Allied Pacific Packaging Solutions Corporation is.
