ARE YALL READY FOR A COOK-OFF?? IF YOU AINT, YOU BETTER GET READY, CAUSE IT IS A COMING!!! On Saturday, August 31, 2013 the Bartholomew Chapter of the Louisiana Dutch Oven Society will host the Louisiana State Camp Dutch Oven Cook-Off in Chemin-A-Haut State Park. Contestants from Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas will meet in the park to compete against one another to see who can cook the best dishes in the old cast iorn dutch ovens. There will be cash prizes awarded to the winning teams, but the top Prize is the bragging rights of being the number one Camp Dutch Oven Cooking Team in the state. The contest will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 and the winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m. the same day. The member of the Bartholomew Chapter of the Louisiana Dutch Oven Society will also be cooking on this day, and shortly after 2:00 p.m. there will be food ready for sample. The public is encouraged to attend, it costs $2.00 per person to get into the park, seniors, age 62 and up, and children ages 3 and under get into the park for free. Make plans to be with us on this day. It will be an excellent time to find out what Camp Dutch Oven Cooking is all about, sample some great food, and meet a lot of nice people.
