[PURPOSE, PRIORITIES & PURSUITS] Once you were a log of timber, a wretched piece of wood Once you were hewn down by the jagged teeth of an axe Once you were on the ground, a log without a purpose Of nutrients, you had none for your roots had been severed Men hopped on you to avoid muddy waters on rainy days You became the seat and a bed to the drunkard on sunny days Indeed you sounded the music against the sticks in the hands of men They giggled at the sounds you made when you cried in pains Some call it music to their souls, oh what a wretched log of timber Oh log of timber who is he that called you hopeless? Who is he that designed your purpose from creation? Like a seed you sprouted into a mighty tree Your boughs became the shelter of the melodious sun birds And a home to the monkeys of the forest Of such, was your priority to be in your forest and habitat of joy… But God had a purpose and had declared your pursuits in life from creation Oh log of timber, did you ask why you were hewed down? Who destroyed your habitation of joy? You went through the sawmill to become the icon in the gallery Beautiful artifact men adore Oh timber indeed you’ve earned an international reputation What is your purpose, priorities and pursuits in life are they not in God?
