ARSENAL were the top English club in 2014, the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) have revealed The Gunners claimed the FA Cup last May with a 3-2 Wembley win over Hull , while rivals Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all ended the campaign trophyless. Arsene Wengers side came seventh in the 2014 club world ranking, with Real Madrid coming out of top after their Champions League and Spanish Cup double. Carlo Ancelottis side scored 381,000 points, the highest in the 23 years the rankings have been produced. Bayern Munich were second, with Spanish duo Atletico Madrid and Barcelona third and fourth respectively. Jose Mourinhos Chelsea came 11th in the rankings, but the club who finished above them in the Premier League, Liverpool, where only ranked 83rd by the IFFHS. Manchester United, who had a dismal time under David Moyes, slumped to 128th in the rankings, while league and Capital One Cup winners Manchester City were 32nd.
