ARTICLE: The Productivity Commission wants us working into our 70s. Has anyone asked businesses what they want? Review by SMH 26/11/2013. I think if someone wants to work until their 70s they can, but what ever happened to living life and earning the right to relax, retire and enjoy time with grandkids, travelling, mid-week lunches or volunteering? The more our society advances, the less we focus on whats best for mankind... it becomes about money and economy... Increasing the retirement age affects the positions available for 20+ yr olds entering the marketplace. I feel businesses need innovation and growth and individuals in their 70s deserve the right to work less. There is so much more to life then working 40+ hours a week. Maybe a contract or mentoring system would work, where businesses can access the knowledge of these individuals in a paid mentoring system. Less workload, but still employment opportunities... smh.au/small-business/managing/blogs/the-venture/do-businesses-want-older-workers-20131126-2y6re.html
