ASEAN-KOREA SUMMIT - PRESIDENT ATTENDS AS ASEAN CHAIR ********************************************************************************* ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit is going to be held at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (Bexco) from 11th to 12th December in commemoration of the 25 years of dialogue relations between ASEAN and Korea. President U Thein Sein is going to attend the summit in his capacity as the Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The President and his delegation left Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. Upon arrival in Busan, the President headed to a dinner with Korean officials where he delivered a speech. Korea and ASEAN have formed good relations, with more than 4 million Koreans visiting ASEAN countries every year. ASEAN is a crucial trade and investment partner of Korea. ASEAN has now become Korea’s no. 3 investment destination. The aim is to further increase trade volume to 200 billion USD in 2020. The President was interviewed by Founder and Chairman of Diplomacy magazine Dr. Thok-kyu Limb at Paradise Hotel in today morning.
