ASK ME ARCHIVE RANDOM RSS This blog is dedicated to the short stories I write that have Muslim themes, there arent many Muslim love stories out there. I write them because my friends came to me one day and said, Since you write, cant you give us something else to read beside the love stories out there with characters we cant relate to? This is for them :) Hope you all enjoy them as well. Ps. If you are not Muslim or a Muslim that does not understand certain Arabic/Islamic phrases, there will always be a vocabulary list that explains the words used in that story. *Please do not take any story from this blog and reuse it without prior permission or linking to my blog. If anyone is found doing so they will be warned and asked to remove the story, if they do not comply I will not hesitate to prosecute. These stories are copyrighted.* NETWORKS BLOGROLL New story tomorrow!! Next part to Khadija’s Proposal :) POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 6 NOTES Short Story. I’m slowly getting back into the groove of life after my family tragedy but here is a short story that I hope makes you all smile:) ******************************************* Mahmood paced back and forth waiting for her to leave her last class. He had timed it perfectly! She walks out with her friends, he was waiting outside with flowers, chocolate, their family and a ring, she screams, her friends scream, she says yes. He had been planning this perfectly for the past 3 weeks. He looked back at the group of people crowded behind him, both his and her mothers were holding on to one another in anticipation. The door opened. His heart thumped in his chest, “Allah” he thought to himself, “Please don’t let me pass out.” People passed and passed and passed, and Aisha was no where to be seen. He looked back at her brother who shrugged. Where was she?? They waited a few more minutes before peeking into the classroom which was empty except for the teacher. Um, excuse me sir? I’m looking for Aisha? The teacher looked up and smiled, “Ohh, Aisha! Yes, she left early. She said something about having to pick up her ID from the main office.” Mahmood sighed, the college campus was huge. What if she had already left the main office? How would they find her? What if she was already on her way home? After discussing for a few minutes, they all decided to pile into the car and drive to the main office. Once again, they lined up outside the door and her brother went inside to see if she was in there. They waited … and waited…… and waited some more. Finally he came out and motioned for them to follow. “Quickly! They said she left about 5 minutes ago to go to the campus library!” Mahmood gripped the flowers and ran behind him, followed by his mother and her mother who both struggled to hold up their skirts as they ran and their fathers who jogged slowly behind complaining about being too old for all this. They arrived at the library and groaned. It was HUGE! They’d have to search each aisle and table for her. We’ll split up. If you find her, call the rest of us to where you are. Mahmood, you wait here at this table. The surprise will be ruined if she sees you first! Mahmood sat at the table while people passed by staring and wondering who he was and who was the recipient of all the flowers he had sprawled across the table. He waited… and waited… and waited some more. It seemed like hundreds of people had gone by and he’d heard nothing from the family. “Allah, if this is You trying to tell me not to marry her I’m going to need a bigger sign than running around a college campus” he muttered to himself. Mahmood? He looked up to see Aisha standing in front of him with her friends. Aisha! Wow, we’ve been looking for you everywhere! Aisha raised an eyebrow. We? Yeah, me and… before he could finish her mother came running up. Ya Allah, no! Did you propose already?? I missed it? Where is everyone? Aisha, where have you been?? Propose?! Aisha asked staring at him. Her friends squealed in the background. No.. I didn’t….. Mahmood whispered through clinched teeth. This was really not how he expected this day to go. Oh there they are! The rest of the group came together around the table. Did he propose already? her brother asked. Aisha laughed, No not yet. What are you waiting for?? Yawm al qiyamah? Ask her! his father said laughing. Everyone laughed and started chanting, “Ask her, ask her, ask her.” Mahmood couldn’t help it, he joined in the laughter and got down on one knee. Aisha, or Carmen Sandiego as I’m going to start calling you - will you marry me? Aisha laughed and hit him in the head with one of the roses from the table, “As long as you promise to never get tired of trying to find me.” (Source: muslimlovestories) POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 29 NOTES Sorry I am so sorry for the very, very long break. I had to be away due to a family tragedy. My father passed away (ina lilahi wa ina ilayhi raj’oun) and I could not bring myself to update at all. Inshallah I’ll be starting back up this week. POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 15 NOTES Responding to messages, sorry it took so long :( POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 1 NOTES Khadijah’s Proposal (intro) There are many different love stories. The ones that have happy endings, the ones that end with someone dying, the ones that make you laugh and ones that make you wonder why you became so emotionally invested in a story ..but I think my love story is the best. My name is Khadijah and this is the story of how I learned that loving myself was the only way I could ever love someone else. After years of sitting through boring lectures and surviving off of 3 hours of sleep each day (if I was lucky), I finally had my diploma in hand. I could feel the weight of one world lifting off my shoulders while another took its place. Having your Master’s degree in my family is a rare thing (if you’re a woman, that is) and having your Master’s in Photography? Unheard of. Apparently it isn’t a real degree and I wasted my time but since it’s my time I wasted I’m not sure how that’s anyone else’s business. My parents would love to see me married by now, preferably with a kid on the way and a doctor for a husband. That dream died when I decided to stick with school and make love to books instead of boys. Now that I’m out of school they are trying to resurrect their dream of the perfect son in law and 2 (maybe 3) grandsons. Since my graduation they’ve found a way to invite 4 men and their families over for “tea” aka check out the fresh meat on the market, I graduated 3 days ago. I think my mother is afraid I’ll become and old spinster ..because 24 and unmarried is a disgrace, and my father is afraid that he’ll never have the chance to see his only daughter married before he dies. My parents are the epitome of dramatic if you haven’t noticed by now. One time my father got the flu and said the only reason he didn’t die was because he begged the angel of death to ask Allah to allow him one more year to see his princess married off and happy. I question the legitimacy of that story. To be honest, I do want a beautiful wedding with the equally beautiful marriage but I don’t want either of those things to come before me having a beautiful single life where I get to know myself first. I tried to explain that to my parents and they asked me if I was a lesbian. Allah? I need You to step in and take over. Just wondering, do you take submissions from other writers as well? I have written stories like these myself and I wonder if you would be interested in allowing that. If not, I completely understand. Just thought I would ask. (: MaSalaam! Wa alaykum salam. I am hoping people will submit stories! Please feel free :) POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 0 NOTES #EXCLUSIVELYYOURS PSA These stories include characters that are of all races and backgrounds. There won’t be just Arabs, Africans, Caucasians, Indians, ..etc.. it will span from all over the globe and sometimes the couples will be interracial. I want to show the true diversity of our Ummah there are rich, poor, middle class, light, dark, funny, serious, hijabi, non hijabi, loud and quiet Muslims. Please do not expect a certain theme to run from story to story. I really love the diverseness of our Muslim community. POSTED 1 YEAR AGO WITH 7 NOTES
