**ASK THE EXPERTS** As a ‘likee’ of 2020 Archery we wanted to try and offer you a bit more substance to your archery diet... As part of our public service archery commitment *ahem* we’d like to try and answer any of those burning archery-orientated questions that you may be harbouring, but are perhaps too afraid to ask. For our first offering 2020 Archery Head Honcho herself, the lovely Heidi, was put under the spotlight – we asked her the following: I’ve just joined the club, when would you recommend I buy my own bow? HEIDI: “There is a lot of dispute about this one and you’ll find that you have people telling you a lot of conflicting things. My personal feeling is that you’re best off keeping practicing with the club training bow for a few weeks while you get into a routine. The single biggest thing you can do to improve at the start of your archery career is to PRACTICE! Getting into a routine of practicing with a bow you can completely handle will set you up for a great future in archery. Once you’ve managed to commit to attending at least weekly for maybe 4 – 5 weeks you can start doing a bit of research and checking club member’s bows (always ask before touching). A good time to actually purchase would be around 6 – 8 weeks after finishing your course, if it’s longer than this no problem... but this is about the minimum I would personally feel comfortable with to make sure everything is settling in the right way.” *If you’ve anything you’d like to ask the 2020 Archery team, then please do feel free to email: [email protected]; and I’ll post the answer as soon as possible.*
