AT&T Expands 4G Service in Greater Springfield SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A new AT&T cell tower in Springfield in expanding coverage. Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno joined officials of AT&T at the site Wednesday. The new 4G LTE cell site highlights the importance of mobile technology to the region’s economy. “We really are excited about this and that’s why we’re out here talking today because this new capacity…with the LTE capacity out of this tower…really is going to expand the connectivity for businesses and residences here in the area,” says Brooke Thomson with AT&T New England At&t says 70- thousand phone calls a day can go through this cell tower.
