ATTENTION Crafters and Craft Lovers: (Posted by Marty) My friend is starting a new website and needs Beta testers for it. This is an opportunity for you to get in on the ground floor of an innovative way to market your crafts or to shop for crafts. For crafters – you sign up at the website and post your items, with a link to your existing sales site, such as eBay, etsy, or any other site where you sell your crafts. Include a good picture because your description will be limited to 160 characters. For craft buyers (or just people that enjoy seeing what other people are making) – you sign up on the site and up-vote the crafts that you like. Up-voting crafts allows the site algorithm to organize them by popularity. This helps individual crafters determine what might sell better and what totally bombs. He needs Beta testers to populate the site with products and to get people voting on what they like so that the algorithm can be implemented and tweaked. From my friend: Our voting algorithm will be implemented over the next 24hrs. At the moment the beta site only filters according to most and least likes, along with timed display options. I.e. content posted earliest vs. content posted latest. This is also known as a wholly ineffective way to go about ranking content of import to your members. What we are doing is integrating a bit of math to make it much, much more difficult for voting and ranking to be manipulated by sheer force of numbers. This will mean a fairer shake to our users as well as ensure that the best products do indeed make it to the front page where they will be featured on a daily basis. We need some truly random, diverse submissions that is as close an approximation to real-time activity as we can find. For this, we need beta testers to submit their content in accordance with the sites general rules of submission. We also need people to vote up or down and comment as they normally would. Those rules can be found here: crafthunt.net/page.php?page=rules Also please take special note of the Tips, Don’ts and Common Sense Guidelines here: crafthunt.net/page.php?page=about Furthermore, if you have any feedback or suggestions to share, we would appreciate whatever this community contributes. We also need people to vote up or down as they normally would. He has also created a new Facebook page to help promote the new site, so we’d appreciate you stopping by there to “Like” that also. https://facebook/pages/CraftHunt/529631413849737?skip_nax_wizard=true&ref_type=bookmark#
