ATTENTION EVERYONE! I DONT CARE IF YOU DONT LIKE ME, YOU HATE ME, KINDA LIKE OR YOU LOVE ME! I NEED YOUR ATTENTION!!!! There is a family in DIRE need of assistance here in Cameron Park. The best way for me to describe it is for me to post the wish that I sent to 98 Rock in hopes that they grant it. I AM TRYING TO PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER TO HELP THIS FAMILY! IF ANYONE CAN DONATE, EVEN IF IT IS JUST A CAN OF BEANS OR VEGGIES - ANYTHING!!!! PLEASE CONSIDER HOW GREAT WE CAN MAKE THIS HOLIDAY FOR THESE PEOPLE! PLEASE READ THE MESSAGE BELOW AND PRETEND THAT IT IS WRITTEN TO YOU! IT IS MY GOAL TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR THIS FAMILY! This was sent to 98 Rock for the 27 Days of Christmas: My name is Robert and I have been thinking about what to wish for since the beginning of November. After a good amount of thought, I decided to make a wish for someone else. I recently (somewhere around the 20th of November) was asked for a ride by a guy named Jesse. I agreed to take him Home (To a motel). Once we got in the car we started talking. I then asked him why he was staying at a motel because I had seen him around several times. He then informed me that he and his girlfriend and ONE YEAR OLD BABY were living in a (barely running) vehicle in front of Motel 6. He also informed me that he has been looking for steady work for six months. According to him, and from my own observations - he is unable to find work due to the inability to take care of himself (shaving, clothing, personal hygiene) as well as not having a place to stay or a reliable ride to and from work. When I pulled in, my heart sank. I saw his girlfriend and baby cloaked in blankets and rocking in the swing in front of the motel. My heart was broken. For someone to be in that situation with a child DURING THE HOLIDAYS?! They are really wonderful people and so kind to others. Jesse has had his problems in his life and has had a very difficult time since he was 14 years old but he is doing very well for the current circumstances. What broke my heart was hearing Jesse say All we can do at night is kill time and wait for the daytime so we can be warm again. All this poor family wants for the holidays is to be warm. So my wish is simply this: Please help me gather the funds to put them up in the Quality Inn in Cameron Park. I spoke with the manager there and arranged a rate for $1100 total for a one month stay, giving them until January 3rd if we count from today. I would also like to wish for him to be able to find gainful employment. Unfortunately, I dont believe that is possible. Their car is also in terrible condition and has a leaky radiator, as well as a host of other small problems and could probably be fixed for around $500 (I know a mechanic that would be willing to do the labor at a huge discount as part of the collective effort to help this family). They have absolutely zero money (aside from state assistance, which I assume they receive). It would be nice to get them a couple of gift cards for Target, Wal-Mart, and/or Toys R Us. I am taking this task on personally, and I have made several attempts to collect donations for the family, to no avail. So far, it is looking like I will be trying to pay for all of this myself. (Which I cannot afford AT ALL as I am already behind on rent and barely making enough money to cover my bills) This is where you guys come in. Please help me get this family into a warm hotel - at least for the holidays. It would mean the world to them. I would love to make a difference in their lives but I simply cannot afford to.
