ATTENTION! JUST BREAKING ON FOX NEWS - DR. Ben Carson said Ebola patients should not, repeat - should NOT have been brought to the USA. What would Dr. Ben Carson do if he were president? Well for a start he would NOT have allowed the Ebola patients to be brought in to the USA. Moments ago on the Neil Cavuto show on FOX News Neal Cavuto asked Dr. Carson if the Ebola patients should have been allowed to be transferred to the USA. Ben Carson was forcefully adamant when he said NO they should not. Dr. Carson said he would ask these four questions to make such an decision: 1. What is the best thing that could happen if we brought the Ebola patients here? 2. What is the worst thing that could happen if we brought the Ebola patients here? 3. What is the worst thing that could happen if we left them there? 4. What is the best thing that could happen if we left them there? Dr. Carson said if you answered those four questions honestly you couldnt possibly conclude their is a greater benefit by bringing those patients here then by leaving them there. He said the risks to our country far outweigh any potential gain of bringing them back, especially because they had the facilities to treat them there and anything else they needed could have been brought to them. Any research benefits could just as easily be gleaned by leaving them there as well. Dr. Carson also said it was irresponsible to overlook the fact that both of the infected healthcare specialists were very familiar with the Ebola disease and all the applicable safety precautions yet they still got the disease. They knew what they were dealing with and how to deal with it and they took all the appropriate safety precautions yet they have Ebola. He also said this strain of the Ebola virus may be mutating and we dont know it yet. That could impact on how the desease is spread as compared to before. Dr. Carson went on to say that political leadership and medical leadership ought to have considered the worst case scenario of bringing the Ebola patients here instead of than the best case scenario.
