Fox announces a 12-episode event series to bring the hit franchise 24 to an iconic conclusion. 24: The Last Day will be set and shot in Los Angeles, California and debut on May 4, 2015 with a two-hour premiere. Returning to the role of Jack Bauer this year has been nothing short of spectacular, Kiefer Sutherland said in a statement. I have enormous respect for Howard Gordon, Jon Cassar and our entire cast and crew for continuing what we feel is the shows legacy. To be able to wrap up the series next year is an opportunity I simply could not pass up. The 24 fanbase has been incredibly loyal which I am very grateful for, so I fully intend to go out with a bang, from Jack Bauers gun that is. Evan Katz and Manny Coto teased whats to come: Starting Jack as and international fugitive this year was a dream come true from a storytelling perspective, they said in a statement. For his final appearance however, we feel it is only fitting to bring Jack home, and in doing so, bring the show full circle. This will allow us to include many characters from Jacks past to expand on and finish their stories in an exciting and fresh way.
