ATTN: COMCAST CUSTOMERS: So I just educated and clowned the customer service and tech reps regarding my download speed. So this is what they DONT TELL YOU if youre NOT TECH SAVVY...Comcast GUARANTEES that you will get 50mb DOWNLOAD SPEEDS when downloading data off the internet and 10mb UPLOAD speed. Which in laymens terms, if youre downloading an 800mb file off the internet, it should take you, per Comcast tech support, only 5-10 minutes IF youre really getting 50mb download speeds...NOW, what they dont tell you is, you can ONLY get this 50mb download speed IF youre hardwired in and have a NEW up to date computer or laptop that is capable of downloading and processing that data to your computer. You WILL NOT get these speeds if youre using WI-FI and have an old computer or laptop. You will also not get this 50mb speed EVEN IF you have an old computer and still hardwired in. Youre old computer or laptop is not built to download that much data. Its like trying to pour water fast into a bottle with a funnel. Eventually the water will back up cuz the funnel hole is trying to process the water into the bottle as fast as it can with that small hole. So in conclusion, dont pay for something your computer cant handle. Youre wasting your money. And if you have a decent computer, have Wi-Fi, bought the BLAST Package for $80.00 and expecting to get 50mb download speed, youre really not getting your moneys worth. Its really misleading.. Comcast needs to send their techs back to school, and customer service needs to inform their customers about this..
