***AUDITIONS**** EVOLUTION Dancers, Aerialists, Physical Performers and Singers for a new show in Shenzhen, China Producers : OCT International Media Performance Co Director : Mitch Sebastian Dates : Rehearsals start for some cast IN LONDON April 28-May 2 Then all cast June 3-June 12 Cast travels to China on June 13 Performances from Mid June. Six month contract. Details : The show will be 55min long, performing twice a day, 6 days a week. Salary will be ¥12000 (Chinese Renminbi) per month. Airfare, accommodation (shared/double occupancy), meal allowance and health insurance are all provided. Location : Shenzhen, China Auditions : Wednesday 16th April in London, recalls the following week. International Theatre Works (whose producing and management credits include The Walt Disney Company, Cirque Du Soleil, Universal Studios and Ferrari World/Abu Dhabi) is working with OCT Group to create a new fast paced athletic multi-disciplinary show. Working with an international team including Director and Choreographer Mitch Sebastian (whose credits include Ratpack and Cheer!) and Aerial Choreographer Paul Rubin (credits include the Light Princess, Wicked and Peter Pan) EVOLUTION is an athletic multi-disciplinary show - high impact circus skills performed to a pumping score of original house music. Lead by 2 principal actor/dancers and a singing soulful diva - dynamic aerial and dance sequences carry the narrative of this urban tale set in the near future where love conquers all. At this stage we are looking for : MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS who can do aerial work (or are willing to learn and have sufficient core strength for harness work). Singing is not essential, but some dancers will have vocal requirements. Also any drumming/percussion skills would be a bonus for some tracks. Must be strong dancers with EXCELLENT ACRO OR GYMNASTIC SKILLS, acting skills, strong physical coordination and stamina. MALE AND FEMALE DANCER/ACTORS For these two roles, they must be strong dancers with drama training and excellent acting skills, strong physical coordination and stamina. Aerial/harness work a bonus. Singing is not essential, but some dancers will have vocal requirements. FEMALE VOCALIST A soulful Diva, who dances very well, and can also do aerial work or is willing to learn and has sufficient core strength for harness work. Needs to be a CLUB STYLE SINGER RATHER THAN MUSICAL THEATRE – she will need to sing and riff over a banging house track and sing two specially composed club anthems. Ultimately – all the cast need to be funky and stylish with attitude! All additional skills a bonus – drumming, singing, parkour, aerial, gymnastics etc. We are working with Alice Brett at the National Centre for Circus Arts on this casting.
