Aaaaa... the joys of childcare :D Just had a very meaningful conversation with the little one. While he was helping me wash up / dry the dishes, I started asking him about his day at school (year 8 now), and managed to successfully steer the conversation towards what he would like to do in life, the importance of pursuing your dreams, trying to make him aware of the pressures that he already experiences from school and parents who simply guide him towards "a job that pays well" ignoring his dreams, thoughts,passions and talents. He started crying when he told me he would like to be a paleontologists but has already been told do give up "that silly dream" and pursue "a real career". :/ I gave him the best advice I could & encouragement and finished the conversation quoting J.Lennon : “When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” He left with a big smile on his face. :D
