Aadhar cards not compulsory: Supreme Court - In a significant development, the Supreme Court on Monday ruled that Aadhar cards are not mandatory even as various state governments insist on making it compulsory for a range of formalities, including marriage registration, disbursal of salaries and provident fund among other public services. I personally feel that some of the Govt service providers - like that of the cooking gas etc were unnecessarily harassing the already existing consumers in the name of Aadhar Card - its a welcome decision and a sigh of relief for many!
