Abbott faces party revolt over aged care home on Middle Head #auspol #ausvotes Abbott is facing revolt from Liberal branches in his own electorate over the construction of a paid for profit run aged care home on Sydneys Middle Head in his own electorate. The controversial plans involve the rebuilding of the heritage listed Navy buildings at 10 Station near Georges Heads. These buildings comprise a number of sites left vacant by the Navy but heritage listed and handed back to the public. Abbotts plan, which required Environment Minister Greg Hunt to sign off on, will see the heritage buildings rebuilt and handed to private ownership.
