Abby update: Abby had a pretty good day yesterday. She was able to keep down about 75% of the pediasure she drank & only vomited 2x-with no blood or continuous wretching episodes. They started the erythromycin last night and she had her second dose this am. She has been taking in her pediasure and has had a little yogurt and sips of soymilk with *knock on wood* no vomiting so far. She has had more bowel movements and plenty of wet diapers. They are going to take her off IV fluids and let her try without the IV nausea medication. If she does well with all of that, she can try some graham crackers and cheerios and things like that. She finishes her course of IV antibiotics early tomorrow morning. So once she is off IV fluids and nausea meds, and eating/drinking without vomiting she will be able to come home. They decided not to start IV nutrition because she was able to take in a fair amount of pediasure yesterday. My mom is still there with her as my gut is still not quite right. She says she is playful and happy and hungry! So say a little prayer, cross your fingers and toes, think positive thoughts, make a little wish for us that she is on the mend and home soon!
