Aboriginal Regional Authorities We want to hear from - TopicsExpress

Aboriginal Regional Authorities We want to hear from you! Around our state, Aboriginal people are demanding a more open relationship with government and a stronger voice in decisions that affect their lives. To enable this, the South Australian Government is moving to establish a series of community driven Regional Authorities to represent Aboriginal communities across South Australia. We want to create new partnerships with Aboriginal communities and anticipate this type of governance model will give Aboriginal peoples greater control of their own future. We want to hear your thoughts on how a Regional Authority model might work and what steps we might need to take to ensure that this model can be successful. DPC AARD will be holding a series of regional forums and receiving written submissions and you are invited to review the Consultation Paper and Information Booklet. A five month consultation process kicked off on 4 July 2013 with the first round of feedback due by 29 August 2013 and includes a call for written submissions and a series of regional forums.
