About 3 Days ago, I saw Ben Akabueze in a Toyota Camry as his driver passed my car at Ikeja. I pointed him out to my secretary who was in the car with me and she was in awe; he had no escorts; no siren blaring hilux constituting a nuisance to other road users. Just a highly productive public servant going about his duties quietly. Lagos has roughly 20 million people ( a country) with more arriving each day. It has modern systems and is fast becoming a megacity so being Commissioner of Budget and Planning ( for 8yrs now) is a very serious job. However, the office holder is educated enough to know that his job is to serve and not to drive other citizens off the road or hinder their life in anyway. In contrast, a loser called Goodluck Jonathan came into town yesterday and caused a traffic gridlock when he could easily have gone about his business without calling attention to himself. Many people could not go about their business yesterday, many lost revenue and had their lives disrupted just because the loser who is supposed to be the most senior public servant has no clue as to what that means- He thinks he is a king , elected to rule. He has no understanding of what it means to be a public servant nor what a day of gridlock translates to in terms of revenue losses to the government since he just sits in abuja and puts a straw into everybodys bowl to suck money without any accountability. The painful part is that when you tell people to give men like Ben Akabueze and his party the APC, access to Aso Rock so that we change our reality and have better results , they insist they want to return the insensitive man and his PDP (who do not care to make their lives easier on any given day) to office to perpetuate the kind of pain they dished out yesterday on the streets of Lagos. Who is going to suffer for another 4 years? Is it Jonathan or yourselves? Please ask them.
