About a month ago dear little Sonny had an accident. He flew into a ceiling fan and landed on the carpeted floor. He did injure his right wing. The Avian Vet was off Island and not available. We finally found a vet right here in Waikoloa. He came to check out Sunnys wing and we were told that the large bone in that wing was either cracked or broken. There was now a enlargement in that spot. He told us that if he had seen Sunny right after in happened he could not have fixed it. He said only the small bones in the lower part of the wing can be hopefully fixed. Sunny went into a huge slump and was very depressed. It took him a couple of weeks to come out of that. We thought that he might give up, but his bright little personality is back. He still doesnt completely trust me. He sees it as being my fault even though he had not flown into the fan before. The right wing droops a bit! The vet said that Sunny will most like not fly again, but he still forgets and tries. Just a few minutes ago he did his best attempt, yet.
